Claims Analyst (Life Insurance)
The primary responsibility for this role is handling and adjudication of Individual Life Insurance claims. This role will offer exposure to larger and complex claims adjudication and allow for career progression.
Other responsibilities include:
– Claims handling duties for various types of Individual Lines Insurance – (Life Insurance, Critical Illness and Accidental Death)
– Reviewing claims files for accuracy and completeness
– Approve or decline payments in conjunction with Director
– Adjudicate basic claims, including some contestable claims
– Answer claims related questions from policy holders
– Create and maintain monthly and quarterly reports
– Help to coach and train support staff as needed
– Other duties as assigned
Requirements include:
– 2+ years of Life Insurance claims handling experience
– Experience with Critical Illness or Accidental Death Claims a plus
– Ability and willingness to pass LOMA/ICA industry courses
– Able to handle multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
– Good with numbers and spreadsheets (Excel)
– Strong verbal and written communication skills
– Team player who can work independently
– Detail oriented and highly organized
– Analytical by nature with and customer service minded
– Experience with MS office (Excel, Word)
– Experience writing reports and using related software
