Director of Product Compliance (Life & Annuity)
Job Summary:
This critical role in the Product Compliance area will report directly to the Senior Legal Officer and will be responsible for providing input, analysis and guidance on general product and compliance matters related to Life and Annuity products. Annuity product experience is a must as this is where all the growth is!
You will be called on to help develop company policy and procedure on a variety of product compliance issues related to new product development and product enhancements for Life and Annuity. In order to be successful, you need to have a deep understanding of applicable laws and regulations. Being a team player is also a must.
Responsibilities include:
– Advise executives and management on various life insurance and annuity compliance matters
– Drafting, reviewing, and administering Life/Annuity products
– Draft and review material and forms related to company products
– Working directly with life insurance, traditional fixed, and fixed indexed annuities
– Performing contract form reviews, advertising reviews, illustration drafting and reviews, and general regulatory compliance
– Conduct research into a variety of compliance issues
– Develop and recommend company policy and procedures
– Drive projects
– Represent the company to administrative and regulatory bodies at state and federal levels
– Assist with general corporate legal matters, such as litigation, SEC filings, statutory filings, corporate governance, anti-fraud procedures
Experience required includes:
– 8-10+ years of experience specifically with Fixed and Fixed Indexed annuities and traditional Life Insurance
– 8-10+years Compliance or Legal experience in a Life/Annuity company
– Knowledge of statutes, rules, and regulations pertaining to Annuity and Life Insurance
– Strong understanding of business practices, sensitivities, and confidentiality
– Strong organizational skills
– Team player and collaborator
This is a full-time permanent position
This position is not remote but is hybrid (must be local) Relocation will be offered if needed.
