Job Title: Workers’ Compensation Claims Adjuster
Location: California (Remote)

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Workers’ Compensation Claims Adjuster licensed in California to manage and resolve workers’ compensation claims efficiently and in accordance with applicable laws and company guidelines. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of California workers’ comp regulations and a track record of delivering high-quality claims handling and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate, evaluate, and manage California workers’ compensation claims from inception to resolution

  • Determine compensability of claims and authorize appropriate medical treatment and indemnity benefits

  • Communicate with injured workers, employers, attorneys, medical providers, and other stakeholders

  • Establish and maintain appropriate reserves based on claim facts and exposure

  • Prepare comprehensive reports and documentation in compliance with state laws and company policies

  • Attend depositions, hearings, and mediations as necessary

  • Work closely with legal counsel and return-to-work coordinators

  • Maintain current knowledge of California WCAB rules, labor codes, and industry trends

Qualifications:

  • Active California Self-Insured Plans (SIP) certificate or equivalent state-required license

  • 2+ years of experience handling California workers’ compensation claims

  • Strong understanding of California workers’ compensation law and medical terminology

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to manage a high volume of claims in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience with claims management systems (e.g., Guidewire, JURIS, or similar)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus

  • Experience working with public entities or self-insured employers

Work Environment:

  • Flexible (Remote, Hybrid, or On-site options available depending on the employer)

  • Standard Monday to Friday schedule, with occasional overtime during peak periods

Small TPA is looking for a long term temporary California WC adjuster to work remote.   Equipment is not provided.  They must have their own laptop/equipment and use their cell phone.   They use a web based system called Claims Pilot so very user friendly with any computer.
