Senior Life Underwriter – (Audit/Forensics Team)
We are working with a leading Life Insurance carrier to help them identify and hire 2 experienced Life Underwriters to join the Audit and Contestable Team. We will look to you help with overall mortality, pricing, quality assurance and clarity in the underwriting process.
Responsibilities include:
– Conducting in-force audit examinations of approved applications
– Post Issue APS file examinations
– Quality examinations to ensure only risk profiles adhering to Company standards are accepted
– Identify any inconsistencies in the underwriting process or the criteria used by the underwriters
– Work closely with Actuarial and the Medical teams on related projects
– Identify non-compliant risks and provide reports to Sr Leaders
– Through audits, detail anything requiring further review or action by management
– Document and archive audit results and file examinations
– Do Post Issue APS file reviews for apps issued through digital or STP
– Prepare live rescission recommendations UW, Audit and Legal
– Identify potential weaknesses in underwriting training
– Identify areas of weakness on individual UWs
– Ad hoc audits on individual underwriters as requested by Management
– Other strategic UW projects as assigned
Qualifications include:
– 5-7 years of individual life underwriting experience
– Strong understanding of medical and diagnostic issues
– Deep knowledge of underwriting guidelines, policy, and procedures
– Proven knowledge of in force issue processes and practices
– Ability to perform live rescission reviews
– Proven knowledge of financial underwriting
– Demonstrated experience with cases of 2MM and above face amount
– Strong understanding and experience with substandard underwriting
– Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel, and Power Point
– Bachelors degree preferred, not required
– FLMI, FALU, CLU, etc, preferred
