VP Administration (Individual Life and Annuity Insurance)
Questpro is working with a top-rated (Individual Life and Annuity) Insurance carrier to help recruit their next VP of Life and Annuity Administration. This is an officer level role reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer and will lead the areas of Life Underwriting, New Business, Suitability, Field Compensation and Agency Licensing and Contracting. This position will be part of corporate succession planning and in line to take over for the CAO role if and when needed.
Summary:
Key responsibilities will be to oversee, lead and run the business operations for (Life and Annuity) Underwriting, New Business, Suitability, Agent Licensing & Contracting Departments. You will need to be able to add value in other ways such as corporate strategy, business and operational planning, road mapping, continuous improvement, KPI development and monitoring, collaborating with other division vice presidents and executives, driving strategic projects, executive reporting and working on various committees as needed.
Responsibilities include:
– Ensure all operational areas (UW, NB, etc.) are meeting established service levels
– Department management and staffing, right people in the right role
– Department training and development
– Continuous improvement of process and technology in all areas
– Department goal setting, KPI development and implementation
– Strategic planning and road mapping
– Budget establishment and oversight
– Competitive intelligence
– Ensure compliance with all related regulatory requirements
– Ensure department compliance on all company policy and procedure
– Corporate Committee assignments as needed
– Driving strategic projects as area stakeholder
– Champion for process automation where needed, especially Life UW
– Vendor negotiation and management
– Laser focus on Customer Service and Quality in your areas
– Executive reporting and presentation for BOD meetings
Requirements include:
– 15+ years proven experience in the Individual Life and Annuity industry
– 10+ years of team management experience (including other managers)
– Specific experience leading Life/Annuity Underwriting and New Business areas
– Proven knowledge and experience with Suitability around Life and Annuity applications
– Proven experience with Agent Licensing, Contracting, Compensation and Accounting
– Strong ability to collaborate with senior executive leaders across the organization
– Proven understanding of related state and federal regulatory standards
– Proven experience with corporate strategy, planning and road mapping
– Experience with MS Office and other Data/Analytics tools and technology
– Experience with Oracle Policy Admin system is a plus
– Previous officer level experience is a plus
– Bachelors degree is strongly preferred
– Industry certifications such as FLMI, CLU, ChFC, etc. are desired
